Original Source is a niche shower gel brand which brings with it an almost cult-like following. Original Source’s vibrant marketing campaigns connect with a young and adventurous audience with an emphasis is on fun, respect and ‘innovative invigoration.’
As part of their Christmas social campaign, original source wanted a Facebook game which would engage and attract followers. The game also needed to allow Original Source to give multiple Christmas gifts away to engage as many people as possible with their product.
BuildEmpire worked with Original Source to develop their concept of an advent calendar inspired game. The competition took only 10 days to build, and we were able to support the game over the Christmas period. In the game, the player had to locate the original source product as quickly as possible on the screen, avoiding time penalties and picking up time bonuses, to win a prize. Every day the fastest 50 players were rewarded with an Original Source gift.
In just 24 days Original Source grew their Facebook followers by 50%.
The competition ran from the 1st Dec until 24th Dec, and on average, there were over 600 players entering the game on a daily basis.
The game was easily sharable and would automatically post the person’s score to their Facebook wall. This meant the friends were interested in the game and it spread from friend to friend quickly.
